A note from Liana Bérubé

I’m writing this from my living room, and I'm astounded by how quickly this year has flown by. In all the turmoil, suffering, and anxiety it has brought, one thing has become increasingly clear to me:

The arts are absolutely essential to our human existence.

Where would we be right now without the plethora of music available online, the YouTube concerts, the Netflix movies, the NASA photos, and the online museum collections? Where would we be without the emotional outlet of creation, without painting, drawing, singing, playing, dancing, writing?

Delphi Trio has undergone its own transformation over the last couple of seasons, and while it hasn't always been easy, it has been the source of an enormous growth process. I’m forever grateful for the last ten years of love and friendship with Jeff LaDeur and Michelle Kwon, who both have turned their lives to follow new and exciting directions.

I’m incredibly proud of our new formation with Tanya Tomkins on cello and Allegra Chapman on piano. Getting to this new chapter in our ensemble’s story took so much work, so much intuition, so much trust. I feel we are now moving forward with an energy and presence that is unprecedented for our ensemble while still grounding in the integrity and emotional connection that Delphi has always valued so highly.

For those of you who heard our first public concerts together back in January, or our online concert for Noe Music in October, thank you so much for joining us and for your joyfully enthusiastic reception.

For those of you we have yet to connect with us in this new formation, we look forward to being able to share in music with you when the time is right. We are creating a buzz and we want to bring you in!

We’re so excited about the fantastic offerings that we have coming your way, including:

We also recently gave the private premiere of an exquisite new piece by Patrick Castillo, generously commissioned for us by Jennifer Howard, and look forward to planning a public premiere soon.
